Sweden Coach - Erik Hamren:
Erik Hamren is the current Head Coach of the Swedish National Team and he was appointed on a part-time basis in November 2009 and went full-time in September 2010. Despite a low level playing career Hamren has excelled as a coach at several teams across Scandinavia and he is tasked with guiding the Swedes at Euro 2012!
Fun Fact: Hamren was named Danish Manager of the Year in 2008 for his exploits with AaB Fodbold and in 2009 he was named Norwegian Manager of the Year after winning the title with Rosenborg!
Sweden - Euro 2012 Qualifying:
Sweden qualified for Euro 2012 after finishing as the best runners-up across all the qualifying groups. This meant they were the only team to qualify for Euro 2012 for not winning their group or qualifying via the play-offs. Overall, the Swedes had a strong qualifying campaign in Group E with 8 wins from 10 games. Despite a last game 3-2 win over Holland they couldn't catch the Dutch who topped the group.

Sweden - Past European Championship Performances:
We have to go back to Euro 1992 to find Sweden's best performance at the European Championships, an agonising semi-final 3-2 defeat at the hands of Germany on home soil. In more recent times a Quarter Final appearance at Euro 2004 is their best showing but a strong qualification performance means they will enter Euro 2012 with confidence.

Sweden - Player to Watch - Zlatan Ibrahimovic:
Our Player to Watch for Sweden at Euro 2012 is their star striker and captain, Zlatan Ibrahimovic! The mercurial Swede currently plays for AC Milan and during his career has he played for the likes of Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter and Barcelona. Zlatan also has the distinction of being the world's most costliest footballer with a career transfer fees total in excess of €150 million!
Whilst some pundits have criticised his attitude or performances against the best domestic teams his goalscoring record at every club he's played for can only be described as prolific. If Zlatan is in the mood at Euro 2012 then he could fire the Swedes out of Group D and into the Quarter Finals!
Sweden - Our Prediction:
Sweden have often flattered to deceive at past European Championships with a Quarter Final appearance at Euro 2004 being their best performance in recent times. Despite qualifying well behind Holland the Swedes face a difficult task in Group D with England, France and the co-hosts Ukraine standing in their way. With best odds around 80/1 for Sweden to win Euro 2012 and 8/1 to win their Group we think the bookies have it about right and the Swedes could struggle. Our prediction for Group D is for France and England to qualify so a bet on Sweden being eliminated at the Group stage could be value.
Our Euro 2012 bets on Sweden will be limited to match betting only both pre-game and in-play. We will also be paying attention to the England v Sweden group match as the stats show the Swedes are definently a bogey team for the English!
