Ukraine Coach: Oleg Blokhin
Oleg Blokhin is the current head coach of the Ukrainian national team and he was appointed in April 2011. Blokhin will have the honour of guiding Ukraine as co-hosts of Euro 2012. In his playing career, Blokhin was a prolific striker for Dynamo Kyiv where he scored 211 goals in 432 appearances!
Fun Fact: In 1975 Blokhin was named European Footballer of the Year, winning the Ballon d'Or. He was the first Ukrainian player to achieve this honour!

Ukraine - Player to Watch - Andriy Shevchenko
A rather predictable choice but we can't ignore the claims of Andriy Shevchenko as our player to watch for Ukraine at Euro 2012. At 35 years old he may have reached the veteran stage of his career but the Ukrainian Captain still has the ability and class to perform at the highest level. The hopes of the Ukrainian nation will rest on Shevchenko's shoulders during Euro 2012 and his goals will be vital if the co-hosts are to progress out of Group D and into the knockout stages.
One of the most prolific and feared strikers of his generation, Shevchenko started out with Dynamo Kiev before moving to AC Milan in 1999 where he banged in 175 goals between 1999 to 2006! In 2006, a big money move to Chelsea followed but a combination of injury and poor form meant Shevchenko went back to Milan on loan in 2008 but he was unable to recreate his past success. In 2009, his career came full circle when he re-signed for Dynamo Kiev. His form has returned with a goal ratio back to one every two games!
If we take a closer look at the stats this is why Andriy Shevchenko is our player to watch for Ukraine at Euro 2012.
* Shevchenko is the third highest scorer in Champions League history with 67 goals, only behind Filippo Inzaghi and Raul.
* With 175 goals scored at AC Milan, Shevchenko is second only to Gunnar Nordahl as the top scorer at the club.
* He is the top scorer of the Ukrainian national team with 46 goals.
* He won the Ballon d'Or in 2004 and the Champions League in 2003 with Milan (Liverpool and especially Jerzy Dudek famously denied him a second Champions League in 2005!)
Ukraine - Our Prediction
Similar to their co-hosts Poland, home advantage will definently help Ukraine but they are expected to struggle and if they manage to qualify from Group D then that will be classed as a successful tournament. If our Player to Watch Andriy Shevchenko gets in the goals then it's all to play for but with best odds around 50/1 it's a fair reflection of their chances!
We think Group D is going to be a tight affair but we are going for France to top the group and England filling second spot with both progressing into the Quarter Finals at the expense of the Ukraine.
